The Materials/Structures Laboratory is maintained to meet the civil, environmental and geomatics engineering program's laboratory needs in the following areas:

• solid mechanics
• properties of civil engineering materials
  • soils
  • concretes
  • wood, and
  • rocks.
• structural engineering, and
• concrete technology.

The laboratory is set up for materials and structures testing and is utilized for undergraduate teaching and projects, and graduate research.
