Samieca Morgan is an Assistant Dean of Students and Case Manager at Florida Atlantic University. In her role, she is responsible for addressing the needs of students in crisis by providing advocacy and coordination of resources, as well as helping students navigate the services, processes, and policies at the university. Additionally, Samieca is the co-chair of the Exceptional Circumstance Withdrawal Committee and is a member of several committees at FAU.

Before working at Florida Atlantic University, Samieca worked as a Transition Counselor at PACE Center for Girls. As a Transition Counselor, Samieca worked with at-risked girls and young women, facilitating therapeutic support groups, and providing individual counseling. In this role, she oversaw the afterschool program, assisting students with college and career planning. Because of her dedication to working with the students in the program, Samieca was asked to join the School Advisory Council for Educational Alternatives in Palm Beach County. Before working at PACE, Samieca started her professional career as a therapist with Chrysalis Health Center.

Samieca holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Social Work degree from Barry University. She is passionate about working with vulnerable populations and helping people become the best version of themselves. Samieca believes that to who much is given, much is required, and has a strong desire to pay it forward.

I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. in Multimedia Journalism and a Masters degree in Social Work. Currently, I am a case manager at FAU, working with students experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity, financial insecurity, and students in need of supportive resources on and off-campus. Overall, I have dedicated 8 years to FAU as a student, intern, graduate student worker, ropes course facilitator, copywriter, founder of FAU Tennis Club and currently a case manager in the Dean of Students office. Before starting my Masters program, I was an editor for a newspaper in North Carolina and a seasonal tour guide at the Biltmore Estate, a tree-top zipline tour company, and a jet ski guide in the Florida Keys.

I enjoy working with students because I believe that everyone deserves the right to higher education and to have an immersive college experience. As FAU's biggest fan (nicknamed Mama Bird by the tennis club team) I hope to assist students experiencing resource deficits by connecting them with supportive services to ensure that they will have the opportunity to change their future for the better and obtain the goals they have set for themselves. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, nature-based activities, Disney, and reading on the beach.

My name is Candace Harrinarine (she/her/ella). I am a proud alumni of Florida Atlantic University. I obtained my Bachelors of Criminal Justice. I graduated with my Masters in Higher Education at Louisiana State University. I have served in crisis management positions for over eight years in Louisiana and Florida. I started working at FAU in 2016 and continue to love what I do. Even though I am meeting with individuals during a difficult time, it is honor to be able to support and help others.

My name is Brittany Mascetti and I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. My career here at FAU began in 2022 when I took on a Dean’s Assistant position in Academic Affairs. I have always wanted to serve in a position where I know I am helping people, and in my role as Victim Advocate I get to do just that. I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood and I do my best to ensure that anyone I am helping knows that they are supported.

Hello there. My name is Dr. Nicole Kogan (she/her). I was awarded my Ed.D. in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia, after having earned my MS Ed. for College Student Development and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and a B.A. in Philosophy from Wittenberg University (Ohio). After 16 years in higher education, I came to FAU in August 2023 to serve as the Assistant Dean/Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution. The work I do affords me the opportunity to help students when they are at a crossroads in their academic and personal paths. Our processes and conversations provide students support with their transition to collegiate life and help them understand the impact their choices have not only themselves but their community. The growth and development they can experience is unlimited, and I am grateful to be a small part of their journeys.

So happy to meet you! My name is Janelle Freire and I am a proud two-time graduate of Florida Atlantic University. I received my Bachelors in Secondary English Education and my Masters in Higher Education Leadership. I have worked at FAU since 2019 when I was a graduate assistant in the Dean of Students office and have since grown within the office to my current role. Wanting to be a teacher, I have always loved working with students and watching them grow into a greater version of themselves. College is a great time for students to start making their mark on the world. Even if I meet a student for less than five minutes, I want them to know they can use me as a resource. If I cannot be the one to help, I can be a connecting line to their next adventure.

I am Dr. Dax Boatwright and I graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelors in English and Masters in Applied Social Science with a concentration in Political Science. I also received an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University and completed my Ph.D. program in Higher Education Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. My professional experience began at the Florida Department of Education serving in the Bureau of Educator Certification by helping prospective teachers earn their teaching certification. Since my arrival at FAU in 2014, I have served in the Registrar’s office, New Student Transitions and Family Engagement and the Dean of Students office. I fundamentally believe student involvement produces positive student experiences that then evolve into a deep sense of belonging to an institution. This is the guiding principle of my public service as my joy working in higher education originates in helping students achieve their academic goals and maximize their preparation for the career of their choice.

Hi there! My name is Cynthia Robinson, and I am currently enrolled as a student at Palm Beach State. My educational journey is focused on obtaining an Associate Degree in Psychology. Once I achieve the milestone, my plan is to transfer to Florida Atlantic University. My family holds a huge place in my heart; they mean everything to me. I have a passion for gardening and traveling. Additionally, I find satisfaction in engaging in acts of service and lending a helping hand to others.
